-NEWS RELEASE-

GOLDEN TAG RESOURCES LTD.                                   CANADIAN VENTURE EXCHANGE

APRIL 4, 2000                                                                      TRADING SYMBOL : GOG

Golden Tag Resources Ltd, (the”Company”), is pleased to provide an update on  recent exploration work completed on two of the Company’s properties, namely the McCuaig, Red Lake, Ontario property and  the Macho South, Souart Township, Quebec claims:

McCUAIG PROPERTY, RED LAKE, ONTARIO :

The Company holds a 100% interest in the McCuaig property, which is favourably located at the junction of two major structures, namely the Cochenour-Gullrock Lake and Post Narrows deformation zones. The neighbouring Cochenour (1.2 million ounces), Campbell (7.5 million ounces) and the Goldcorp (3.5 million ounces) mines are all located along trend to the southeast within the Cochenor-Gullrock Lake zone. Rubicon Minerals Corporation, (“Rubicon”) (RMX-CDNX) who are earning a 50% interest in the property, has recently informed the Company of  results of extensive soil sampling, mechanized trenching and ground magnetics carried out to the end of 1999. Rubicon reports that recent work has extended the high-grade gold mineralization in the southeast of the property that was originally reported by Freewest Resources Ltd. in 1996. In this area, narrow (4”) discontinuous quartz veins have been exposed over a 5 metre strike length before they are covered by overburden. Samples taken by Rubicon on the vein returned values of 231g/t Au (grab), 103.5 g/t Au (grab), 59.18 g/t Au (chip over 0.34 m), 53.36 g/t Au (chip over 0.34 m) and 9.73 g/t Au (chip over 0.34 m).

In the northwest portion of the McCuaig property, Rubicon reports that they have exposed the contact of an intensely altered and deformed ultramafic body. The ultramafic and its contact are developed over at least 300m of strike length. Alteration is associated with the development of intense quartz-carbonate accompanied by strongly elevated arsenic, antimony, mercury and locally gold. Magnetic data are interpreted to suggest that this contact extends southwestwards beneath Red Lake for a minimum 800 m. Soil surveys have detected the areas of known mineralization referred to above, and have detected new targets that warrant follow up. Rubicon reports that they plan on continuing work on the property.

MACHO SOUTH PROPERTY, SOUART TOWNSHIP, QUEBEC ;

An induced polarization (IP) (dipole-dipole) survey over the northern portion of the Company’s Macho South property in Souart Township, Quebec was completed late last fall. The survey has indicated that there are three parallel zones of increased sulfide mineralization in bedrock. These three parallel zones have been outlined over a strike length of 2 kilometres. The thickness of the overburden within the survey area was deemed to be shallow and is not expected to exceed 15m. This property, which is comprised of 88 claims is 100% owned by the Company.
