Red Lake, Ontario

In 1995, Golden Tag acquired a 100% interest in three properties in the Red Lake Gold District of Ontario. A joint venture agreement was subsequently made on two properties with Freewest Resources Canada Inc.

McCuaig Property

This property offers the potential for hosting a high-grade gold deposit of the Couchenor-Goldcorp-Campbell type. Freewest, as operator, completed the first phase of an exploration program in March of 1996, which culminated with the drilling of 9 holes (3,380 ft.).

Six of the holes tested strong NE-trending geophysical anomalies which were coincident with the trend of mineralization encountered in the adjacent McKenzie mine. The remaining 3 holes tested the probable extensions of gold mineralization discovered by drilling in the 1940's. Seven of the nine holes intersected appreciable amounts of pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite within disrupted and broad zones of dolomitization enveloping local zones of strong silicification. However, no significant gold assays were returned from any of the holes.

Geological mapping, prospecting is being conducted at present. A second drill program will follow-up on the results of this program, in late 1996.

Heyson Property

The property consists of 36 contiguous claims. It is located east of and adjacent to the Madsen mine, where continuing underground exploration is returning encouraging results. Freewest, our joint-venture partner, is presently planning a comprehensive exploration program which will commence this summer. Gold assays of up to 0.617 opt have been obtained from surface quartz veins on the property.

Faulkenham Lake Property

Golden Tag owns a 100% interest in 24 claims, located to the NE of and adjacent to the Heyson property.
